F1: China

14 posts in this topic

Apparently Lotus lodged a formal protest in China about the Mercedes rear wing that delivers air to the front spoiler and stalls it when the DRS flap is open. The protest was dismissed by the stewards which confirms the car passing scrutineering at the first 2 Grand Prix.

Teams with the necessary funds and facilities will now be re-doubling their efforts to copy it. :animier:

It was a little slow start, but it quickly became one of the better F1 races in years :animier:

It was a bit sad that Shumi had to withdraw after a fault from one of the team members in the pit, as he might have made it even more exciting. Not that he is any special favourites of mine, but the more "up there", the more excitments there are.

This season might be very good, as there now are close to 10-12 cars that might fight for a place among the top 3 at any races.

Will the fire be stoked up now about the Merc ducted rear wing??

Well it was declared legal after Lotus's challenge, but Nico didn't get the opportunity to use it in the

race (except to pass a couple of backmarkers), but it was probably very significant in Qualifying.
