Oohh great stuff, and what a truly fantastic thing to do. To my mind this is really commendable, the proper restoration of special vehicles ranks high in my book

You realise that you are going to have to invite me over to see the project at each stage now, and perhaps we can get that beer too
Current:
2016 Audi A6 Allroad
2015 Suzuki Celerio

Wow, thank you for the support!

I am picking up the car in Wales next thursday, and in Wales it will stay - yes there are closer specialists but I prefer to keep things simple, so the person who helped me with PPI is also going to be in charge of the metalwork that he anticipated. Hence - I am going to go there from time to time but I presume most of the time I will be just receiving pictures of the work in progress.

Also, after much deliberation I have concluded that history should matter less to me than what I want. I have my mind set on a different colour finish now, which is not entirely correct (two years off) and which will be revelaed in due course...

I was getting into my car and someone asked, "Can you give me a lift?"
I said, "Sure, you look great, the world's your oyster, go for it."
