The timings were; car parks open 06.30, gates open 07.00, on-track action 09.00-17.30, gates close 19.00.
I think getting there very early could be over-rated but at least it left time for a lovely breakfast at the hotel, nom nom nom.
I think the best bit for me was virtually getting to sit in the Aston Martin Jet 2+2 (Rapide Shooting Brake), I got the driver's door open, one leg in and my backside inches off the luscious driver's seat before someone with a foreign accent appeared from nowhere and said no-one was allowed to sit in it!
Fair enough, it is the only one in the world, and privately commissioned. But perhaps they should have put a sign up or locked the doors!!
Maybe the shape/design won't be to everyone's taste but the quality of workmanship looks stunning. I think it looks quite big yet delicate. However, being mechanically pure Rapide (with the previous generation's 470bhp V12 and the same rear-wheel drive chassis), I expect it's fairly robust on the move. The twin glass-panelled roof is amazing.
Second best bit for me was probably the supercar paddock for some mighty, throbbing (and sometimes nitro-assisted) aural porn!
