I think from memory it opens at 7am. Which might sound daft but there will be a queue of people even at that time. Any later and the queues getting to the event in the car can be massive.

I usually get up at 4am to get down there for 6:30 ish.

Having said all this, not sure if the moving motor day opens later.

Anybody else going next week?

(I gather there are some free tickets available for forum members)

I was getting into my car and someone asked, "Can you give me a lift?"
I said, "Sure, you look great, the world's your oyster, go for it."

Methinks he refers to me, I have two tickets available. As things have turned out we (Sally and I) have but one option for a camping trip this year before the school holidays, which annoyingly has clashed with the planned trip to Goodwood.

We don't want to camp that far from home, and we have the two dogs to consider blah blah blah.............

So the upshot is, I have TWO tickets for the Thursday, freely available to you lovely people. Just let me know and I'll post them to you FOC.

The timings were; car parks open 06.30, gates open 07.00, on-track action 09.00-17.30, gates close 19.00.

I think getting there very early could be over-rated but at least it left time for a lovely breakfast at the hotel, nom nom nom.

I think the best bit for me was virtually getting to sit in the Aston Martin Jet 2+2 (Rapide Shooting Brake), I got the driver's door open, one leg in and my backside inches off the luscious driver's seat before someone with a foreign accent appeared from nowhere and said no-one was allowed to sit in it!

Fair enough, it is the only one in the world, and privately commissioned.  But perhaps they should have put a sign up or locked the doors!!

Maybe the shape/design won't be to everyone's taste but the quality of workmanship looks stunning.  I think it looks quite big yet delicate. However, being mechanically pure Rapide (with the previous generation's 470bhp V12 and the same rear-wheel drive chassis), I expect it's fairly robust on the move.  The twin glass-panelled roof is amazing.

Second best bit for me was probably the supercar paddock for some mighty, throbbing (and sometimes nitro-assisted) aural porn!

A fine choice of car, sir. I believe there is some interest from Aston to make a few more of them. They seem to like doing small runs of exclusive models these days.

I so wish I could have gone down to Goodwood. I was really close to asking Finners for the tickets but couldn't get the day off as my boss was already on holiday :(  The photos and footage I've seen from the event look fantastic!

On the plus side, you may have got burnt, NaughTTy. Bit warm out there at the moment, but there would have been plenty of shade in the rally stages.

More pics please, MTK. :)
